LISA FORMOSA
1.Which accomplishment/event/moment are you most proud of in your career as a Homeopath?
I am very proud of my ability, and opportunity, as a homeopath to create profound changes in the lives of young families. Freeing a child from chronic illness with the right remedy has wonderful effects on the entire family dynamic. Supporting new parents to manage acute illness without fear and without the use of conventional drugs is very rewarding.
2. What 3 aspects of your Homeopathic education contributed the most to your success?
Good, clean Hahnemannian teaching is the top contributing factor. As a member of the 1997 graduating class of the school, adhering to these beautiful, classical principles has contributed to my longevity and success in practice.

Day and Night Terrors
Recently I met a 2 ½ year old boy with the main complaints of extremely poor sleep, night terrors and meltdowns. These episodes were intense, violent and loud. Vocal repetition, shrieking, capricious and destructive behaviour accompanied the tantrums. The child’s expression would alternate between fearful and ‘snarling’. Mom and Dad reported these events were happening day and night and would last for a minimum of 20 minutes. An aversion to water and an unusual tolerance to pain also marked this case.
The prescription of Stramonium 30CH brought about remarkable change. The terror tantrums are gone, sleep is vastly improved and the child is exhibiting new awareness and calm. His parents are now hopeful that his upcoming Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment will simply provide reassurance, rather than a diagnosis.
4. Do you have anything else you would like to share?
My work as a homeopath took a back seat to my mothering in the first years of each of my daughters’ lives. I’m grateful to come out of the intense stage of parenting very young children to find I am still passionate about homeopathy and can continue to build a successful practice. Making Your Practice Profitable, with CCHM alumna, Rebecca Liston has helped me create vision and a steady stream of new, and ideal, patients so I can effectively balance my family and my career.
