- Which accomplishment/event/moment are you most proud of in your career as a Homeopath?
Having just completed my program at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine in June of 2014, I am very proud to have graduated from the program. It was a challenge driving back and forth from London to Toronto but definitely well worth it. On an ongoing basis, the satisfaction that is derived from a patient’s recovery from whatever imbalance they presented with is immeasurable, in particular if it’s an issue that they have been dealing with for a long period of time with other forms of treatment having been tried without success.
- What three aspects of your Homeopathic education contributed the most to your success?
Time spent in clinic, watching cases being taken and then discussing them afterward allows the student to have a better understanding of case taking allowing them to observe extremely knowledgeable Practioners in action without the pressure of having patients in front of them. In addition, the ability to “pick the brain” of the Practioner as to why they asked certain questions, where they were headed with different topics, why certain rubrics were used and ultimately, why they chose a certain remedy was invaluable in developing my skills as a Practioner.
Last but not least, the great teachers, staff and other students at the College ensured that this very challenging course was manageable.

Dealing with children is always very satisfying. The mother of an 8 year old boy came to me as her son had just been diagnosed with ADHD and she had been provided a prescription for Ritalin that both the doctor and the boy’s school had strongly recommended that he begin taking immediately. An inability to concentrate at school resulting in ongoing class disruptions, more aggressive behaviour and problems with class mates was leading to declining marks and depression. In addition, the patient was experiencing asthmatic episodes and chronic colds that came and went throughout the winter months. An initial prescription of Phos 30 had immediate results both at home and at school. Within two days of starting the remedy the boy’s teacher had already commented that there was a significant difference in his ability to focus at school and class disruptions were greatly reduced. Within three month, and a gradual increase in the potency, the patient has turned around so much that he has started wining reading and writing awards in class. The boy’s asthma is also much better along with a ringing in the ears that was creating issues in and of itself. Needless to say both the parents and the school are thrilled and the Paediatrician that had prescribed the Ritalin could not get over what a difference there was in the patient.
- Do you have anything else you would like to share?
I am extremely proud to say that I am a homeopath – in particular a classical homeopath – as the desire of more and more people to regain balance and health in their lives utilizing natural and holistic therapies is growing at a rapid rate. The ability to help people attain the health that they have been searching for, sometimes for long periods, is unbelievably rewarding.
