A Remarkable Outcome: A CCHM Alumni Homeopathic Case Study in Chronic Post-Surgical Headaches from Homeopath Tammy Dyck

Some homeopathic cases stay with you not just because of their complexity, but because of what they reveal about the skill and insight of a dedicated practitioner. This story highlights the remarkable work of CCHM alumna Tammy Dyck, DCHM, RHN, and the profound difference individualized homeopathy can make in complex, long-standing conditions.

When Conventional Options Were Exhausted

A 69-year-old woman had suffered from headaches for many years before being diagnosed with two brain aneurysms in early 2024. In September of that year, she underwent surgery to clamp the larger aneurysm.

Following surgery, she developed constant, unbearable pain and pressure in her head. In December 2024, she was hospitalized due to concerns that she may have suffered a stroke. Imaging and testing revealed a large blood clot between the skull and the brain. Although medical treatment over the following months led to the clot dissolving, her symptoms did not improve. She continued to experience relentless headaches and pressure, and she had been unable to work for nearly two years.

At this stage, there were no additional medical solutions available to address her ongoing pain.

A Homeopathic Approach

In December 2025, she came to see Tammy Dyck for a homeopathic consultation. Rather than focusing solely on the diagnosis or surgical history, Tammy approached the case through a classical, individualized homeopathic perspective, taking into account the totality of the patient’s symptoms and lived experience.

Based on this assessment, Lachesis 30C was prescribed as a test dose. The patient noticed a clear initial improvement. She then continued the remedy in liquid form for five days. When dosing stopped, her symptoms gradually returned, indicating the remedy was acting but required ongoing support. Tammy then advised the patient to take Lachesis once daily in liquid form for three weeks.

An Outcome That Made a Difference

At her follow-up appointment on February 1, the patient reported significant improvement. She experienced approximately 90 percent reduction in headaches and head pain. She was able to sleep through the night without elevating her head and no longer felt overwhelming post-meal fatigue. Headaches were reduced to only once or twice per week and were mild and short-lived. Pain was now limited solely to the surgical incision site, she no longer relied on pain medication, and she returned to working full time. When headaches did occur, they resolved simply by lying down briefly.

For a patient who had been living with constant pain and no further medical options, this represented a remarkable shift in quality of life.

The Impact of Skilled Homeopathy

This case illustrates the potential of individualized homeopathy when guided by a trained and experienced practitioner. Tammy Dyck, DCHM, RHN, drew on her training and clinical insight to support a patient with a complex, long-standing condition, achieving results that had previously seemed out of reach.

While homeopathy does not replace medical care or guarantee outcomes, cases like this highlight the careful clinical reasoning and dedication that CCHM graduates bring to their practice. It is this combination of skill, knowledge, and compassionate care that allows practitioners like Tammy to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their patients.
