I am writing to express my gratitude for being able to attend and take part in your wonderful in class program at CCHM. The whole process from beginning to end what a long one for me, but the last 3 years of class have flown by. Before choosing a school I did some research and asked several different homeopaths what school to attend and they all said CCHM. In my first conversation with Joyce I knew I have made the right choice. She made me feel like I was going to be involved in something greater than just choosing a new designation or getting an eduction. And she was right to do so. I remember my first class. My smile grew bigger and bigger because I felt everything I was hearing was inline with my views on health. With every weekend of classes I learned that homeopathy and becoming a homeopath was worth waiting for, and was going to be worth all the sacrifices I was going to need to make. I cannot pin point specifically a single thing that make this experience outstanding, but the cumulation of the whole process and community of teachers, the support and encouragement offered from Andrea and Kerri, and friends I have made have left a mark on me. The teachers' offered a variety of perspectives and approaches that made each one of us search for our own. In the end I learned that there is a vast variety of ways. The internship and externship programs provided first hand experiences and learning with patients that have taught more than can be summed up in any one class or book. The whole program from beginning to end was wonderful and amazing! Looking back I remember the first moment when I realized I wanted or needed to go back to school because I wanted in someway to help others. It was a peaceful yet difficult moment of surrendering my intentions, goals, and plans. Shortly after this moment I came across the Homeopathy program at CCHM. My greatest lesson at CCHM was learned in the same way. I learned that the best way I can help a person is in that same surredering of biases, plans, thoughts, assumptions, even intensions to do so. And that it is in the witnessing of someone's suffering that begins their true process of healing. I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to partake in this program. Thank you. It all started at a dinner table discussion when the young doctor ridiculed Dr. Burnett for being a homeopath. Delighting in the opportunity to educate, Dr. Compton kept an ongoing dialogue with the young man over time.

Things are settling in nicely as this school year gets into full swing! The Autumn is always a time of new beginnings - even though the leaves are falling. The students are refreshed from having the summer off and excited to see their colleagues and begin a new year together. There is an excellent Homeopathy conference coming up soon - next weekend. The Canadian Homeopathic Conference 2012 which is being held near the airport.

I have put up a few posts regarding the homeopathic care of my pets. My friend the other day called me the "homeopathic pet whisperer" because of the quick, acute care I have beem able to provide for anything from diarrohea, to broken bones, cuts, contusions, thunderstorm fears, relocating anxiety and much more.

Homeopathy and Abscess

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about an incident with my lovely border collie Panda. After her incident with a severe cut in her mouth, Panda developed a huge abscess on her neck. It grew slowly and was very firm. I thought it was probably a result of the cut healing too fast (which can happen when one uses Calendula). There was a bit of splinter left that may have caused an infection.

Today is a day to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year. Students are excited as are the staff and lecturers. There was a lot of prepartion this summer and now that clinic and classes are beginning we feel relaxed and ready. It is a time of meeting old friends again and the opportunity to share our passion for homeopathy with new faces!

Ahhhh....a long weekend in the sun! But too much sun can lead to heat or sunstroke. I suffered form this on a long weekend many, many years ago. My first trip to Lake Huron and for some reason I was totally unaware of the length of time I spent in the sun. Heat and Sun stroke can be very serious - even life threatening.

There is a poster on the wall at the school that is a brief introductory guide to the use of classical homeopathic medicines. It gives a very brief description of common ailments and conditions. I wanted to include these remedies on this week's blog because clients really enjoy looking at this poster.
