Why I Chose Homeopathy Instead of Psychology

Homeopathy as a form of treatment and cure has always been a part of my life. Being born in India and a small village where natural remedies are used before turning to modern medicine has given me close exposure and a positive attitude towards using homeopathic remedies. There are many things that intrigue me about homeopathy for example, the fact that anyone at any age can use homeopathic treatment and it does not cause any side effects. It is based on natural ingredients, addresses the cause of the illness and not the symptoms.

Before thinking about homeopathy as a career I wanted to pursue a career in psychology mainly because I wanted to help people. I wanted to deal with women and children, make a difference in their lives. I feel that everyone should love the field of work they are in and I feel that way towards homeopathy. 

After going to Niagara College for General Arts and Science I was going to apply for psychology at Brock University but then I had a milestone of my own that I had to deal with. I had a surgery for appendicitis, although it was minor; it was dreadful - the nurses were absolutely horrible and very disrespectful. I had to spend a week in the hospital and after taking all those medications, I actually felt weaker than stronger. That is when I thought to myself about alternative medicine and I started looking in to homeopathy and I knew that I would love to be a homeopathic practitioner. 

With homeopathy, not only does it go back to what may have started the issue it also makes your immune system stronger. Homeopathic remedies can be fast, complete and everlasting; that to me is amazing because some people experience illnesses that are very hard to cure with western medicine. My sister has a baby boy named Amar who is 3 months old; shortly after he was born he was diagnosed with eczema. It got to the point where it was unbearable both for the mother and the baby. We knew that we would do whatever it takes to make sure that Amar’s skin improves. So after going to Amar’s family doctor who prescribed a steroid cream which was not effective, we turned to a homeopath who then prescribed Amar a cream called e-cream which helped a lot. We also used a no-name 100% herbal plant based cream from India which worked wonders and cured Amar within 3 days. Everyone at the homeopathic clinic was very friendly and went above and beyond for my sister. They reassured her that everything was going to be okay and gave her faith. They were very patient and genuinely wanted to help her and that is exactly what inspires me about homeopathy. Everyone that is in this field is kind and sincerely wants to help people.

I want to make sure that I live a healthy lifestyle and am able to inspire those around me to choose healthier options and to live a longer, better life. My goal with homeopathy is to be there for those that need me and to build relationships with my clients so they trust me and understand that I will do whatever it takes to cure their illness. I don’t like to give up and I want my clients to feel the same way. I am passionate about homeopathy and truly believe that these remedies are effective. I understand that you have to start a business on your own and go about generating your own cliental. I feel that I have the personality and the ambition to be very successful in this field.

Overall, I am very excited to learn more about homeopathy and to start practicing it. I have known that this is what I’ve wanted to do for the past year and a half and I will put everything towards achieving my goal. Growing up, I thought of different careers and have never felt passionately about any of them until I discovered homeopathy and its effectiveness.
