Wholism for the Homeopath!

One of our lecturers sent CCHM the following article to include in our weekly blog. Reading it had a profund effect on I am delighted to share it with you.

"Over the past few years I have had the great privilege of spending time with indigenous medicine men and women from different cultures around the world. A few months ago I had a life changing experience living with an amazing elder medicine woman at her home in the Andes mountains of Chile. She showed me the way of living daily with the simplicity and intention of being in sacred space in everything we do.......consciously connecting to the earth with loving gratitude for our lives.

From the beginning she made it clear that we were not teacher and student...but rather complete equals exchanging knowledge, experiences, wisdoms, life’s pains and challenges and new learnings together. I had never experienced such personal validation before, especially from someone I held in such high esteem and with such great life experience in the medicine world as she has lived. She took me high into the Divine Feminine energy of the southern Andes mountains ......surrendering my fears of steep narrow paths to the trust of the surefootedness of my horse......soaking in the energy of the full moon and the deep presence of the earth.

My heart was stretched open by the sweeping expanses of the magnificent landscapes and especially by the enormous wingspan of the condors circling overhead. I found myself constantly extending my arms out in either direction and my fingertips became the feathers of the wings tips of these incredible birds. I was opened to the medicine of presence with the earth and her mysteries both seen and unseen...imagined and the unimaginable. As well as the power of simple rituals and attention to inner silence as deep energy medicines for my own healing as well as for others. My medicine woman reminded me that what I was experiencing was not just for myself but for everyone whom I knew and who knew me. I realized that this was all part of the great change in consciousness that is taking place at this most important time in human history.

One other great challenging lesson that was given to me in this time was the need to continually surrender our plans to the larger unfolding rather than be in constant frustration at all the seeming obstacles that appear at every turn. She would say to me if things are not working out then I am following the wrong plan and that I needed to make a new one that is back in the great flow of the unfolding universe. That the right thing is always what is happening... our response to it is the only thing that matters. I am continuing in a regular support relationship with the magic of skype...certainly easier than the long flight to the bottom of the world until the bigger unfolding brings me back there again."  - Dr. Joan Weir, BSc, ND, FCAH
