  • I loved Sunday with Dr Saunders. He has so much insight and his lectures are so interesting.  I love how he presents his own case, then talks about physiology, pathology, pharmacology, medical terms, peppered with the materia medica and nutrition, and a bit of posology and philosophy. He is such...

  • Even thoough the homework seems the equivalent of writing a term paper each week,  I'm still enjoying the program immensely.  I'm very impressed at how well it's planned out, adding (what seems like, ha ha) a "simple step"  gradually,  covering particular remedies which turns out to be a properly timed review,...

Using Homeopathy In My Pregnancy

by Chantel Jarrett, Saskatoon

My first experience with homeopathy was during labour four years ago with my first daughter Lila.  My contractions had slowed down and my midwife offered a remedy (pulsatilla) and almost immediately my contractions strengthened.  I remember thinking, “what was I just given?”

After the birth it was recommended that I sip on Arnica to help speed healing and recovery.  I healed very quickly from a traumatic birth experience and can thank the remedies for stimulating my ability to heal in record time.

Several months later, I decided to attend an introductory workshop on homeopathy. From this first workshop, I intuitively knew that homeopathy would change my life. I then booked asession for my first homeopathic visit and continued with follow-up appointments and began tovisit on regular intervals.

For many years, I have searched in the holistic field for a career path, but nothing resonateduntil I discovered homeopathy.  I was immediately drawn and it ignited a spark for healing and learning.

I have experienced much healing in the past four years and feel it is now the right time to develop my own healing abilities and to share with the world around me this extraordinary information system of healing.

We recently welcomed our second daughter (Sage), who was born five months ago.  I wastreated with homeopathy throughout my entire pregnancy, as I experienced back pain, minor aches & pain, emotional issues and spotting.  I prepared a list of remedies for labour and my midwife was truly amazed with the extensive list and has kept a copy on hand for future births she attends.

“Homeopathy for Birthing” by Jana Shiloh was very helpful, along with Miranda Castro’s two books, “Homeopathy for Pregnancy, Birth, and Your Baby’s First Year” and “TheComplete Homeopathy Handbook”.  These have been great learning tools, and I continuously reach for Miranda’s books daily to help learn more about the remedies.

Motherhood has led me further into homeopathy, because I need a way to help my daughters heal naturally. Proudly, I can say my daughter Lila (4 years old) has never taken anti-biotics, Tylenol or anyover-the-counter or pharmaceutical drugs, nor has my 5-month old; all because homeopathy worked so astoundingly.  My husband and I also rely on homeopathy and we as a family are grateful as to how it has improved our lives physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

It has deepened my awareness and is helping me see the bigger picture in my life and the world around me.  It is as though a veil has been lifted and I am beginning to understand how everything in the world is connected.
