From Shahlah A., RPN, Guelph
My name is Shahlah and I have had an interest in homeopathy for many years now. I finished medical school in Afghanistan and came to Canada, working as a Registered Practical Nurse now for sixteen years.. I was introduced to homeopathy through my husband, who studied in Toronto and went on to provide homeopathic consultations.
At home our primary medicine is homeopathy, as I prescribe it to my kids for various purposes which include emotional issues and physical problems. My son suffered from acne at an early age and along with Acidophilus, I prescribed him homeopathic remedies, which immediately showed effective results. I firmly believe in the power of homeopathy, and have thus excluded the use of pharmaceutical brands in my household.
For many years I have read and studied homeopathic remedies. Fortunately I have access to homeopathic books because of my husband being a homeopath. I want to study homeopathy professionally myself now so I can get my diploma and apply its practice.
I have worked as a nurse for many years and have thus seen the ill effects of pharmaceutical drugs. I know that homeopathy can provide real treatment and relief from many emotional and physicalproblems. It is a natural cure that avoids disastrous side effects. I want to learn more about homeopathy and teach people about its benefits, as opposed to the cyclical nature of drugs. I think that with my background and expertise, I can truly benefit those around me and make a real change for my community.
