I grew up with Alternative Therapies like Massage, Aromatherapy, Bach Flower Remedies, Herbs, Homeopathic Remedies and healing arts. It is in my nature to reach for the natural remedy to alleviate a physical or psychological symptom first instead of treating it with conventional medicine.
It is my passion to study and search for new alternative healing remedies and incorporate them into my personal and professional lifestyle. My personal experience with Homeopathic remedies started when I was going for treatments with a Kinesionics practitioner as a teenager. I learned to respect and listen to my body .He showed me how to use Sarsaparilla root and Iodium to treat hypothyroidism and endometriosis among other things.
Homeopathy has enriched my life in so many wonderful ways. As a Mom it’s my “go to” for teething pain, common cold and coughs and speeding up healing recovery without the side effects that conventional medicine comes with. I strongly believe you are what you put into your body.
I grew up on an organic farm where I learned the importance of purity in your food and water. My Dad uses the moon phases to seed his crop. I learned to incorporate the moon phases into my personal life. I did different experiments with homemade facial masks, and skin care products ,cutting hair and baking.
In my Cosmetology class in high school I studied the skin and its internal clock and how to treat it with natural remedies. Who knew that the skin has its own personal clock each day? It is the largest organ which is too often overlooked and misunderstood. I made awesome facial masks with fresh herbs and simple food ingredients that worked.
The possibilities are endless with natural remedies. You just have to experiment and be open to the results. Those are all principles that were instilled by my parents and I am grateful for that.
In my clinic I encourage my patients to think outside the box. As a Registered Massage Therapist , I make sure that my patients are aware of their body and its messages. With simple assessments ,body awareness and treatments one can achieve great recoveries.
Working with the doctors here in town has challenged and encouraged me to go deeper into medicine. What kind of doctor would I like to be? I want to be the kind of doctor that takes time for their patients and listens to their needs. I don’t want to treat just the symptoms, I want to treat the body as a whole. Body, Mind and Spirit are all to be considered when looking at the ailment because all three are directly affected with each other.
When the student is ready the teacher will appear is a great philosophy of mine. I have been very fortunate in my studies of massage, reiki, touch for health, infant massage, esthetics and reflexology, to have acquired a great deal of knowledge and wisdom that was passed on through exceptional teachers. Homeopathy is another great tool in my toolbox. It’s the missing puzzle piece in my life. I want to become a homeopathic doctor to help and enrich other people’s lives. I am excited and looking forward to starting this journey.
