From Tina D., Toronto Ontario“The highest ideal of cure is the speedy, gentle, and enduring restoration of health by the most trustworthy and least harmful way.” – Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.
The art and science of healing naturally with non-toxic remedies is a practice that is resurfacing and regaining its presence worldwide as people are realizing the benefits and advantages through their own experiences and recognizing the importance of the correlation between the mind, body and soul in the healing process.
Homeopathy was proposed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in 1796 and has been practiced ever since. The length of Hahnemann’s life alone proves the benefits of homeopathy; based on statistics the average life expectancy of a person born between 1750 and 1800 was 36 years and Dr. Samuel Hahnemann lived until the age of 88.
The body is made up of a series of very complex systems that have the power to heal themselves to regain homeostasis. Good health is the marriage of mental, spiritual and physical well-being and I believe that it is crucial to understand characteristic symptoms of each piece in order to develop a diagnosis and individual cure. Homeopathy is one profession that follows this ideology, and the practitioner takes time with each patient to understand the full realm of their life and health to enable correct and accurate diagnosis and treatment.
I have a true passion for nurturing people and educating people on natural healing remedies, diet and exercise. I am an advocate for homeopathic remedies; I often recommend over the counter homeopathic remedies, that I personally use, to my family and friends. I am motivated to continue learning and further educate myself in homeopathy. I have a strong interest in digging deeper into homeopathy to understand the characteristics of each remedy, how the body reacts to each remedy and how and why the remedy works within the body.
I have a personal experience I would like to share that introduced me to homeopathy. From this experience, I was fortunate to see the power of homeopathic healing.
In 2015 my father was diagnosed with heart disease (CHD) and severely high blood pressure. Following his successful angiogram surgery he was placed on a blood pressure pharmaceutical medication. The side effects and health risks of the medication he was prescribed were extremely concerning. I researched alternative medicine and made an appointment for my father to see a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine / Homeopath. The Naturopath / Homeopath was able to stabilize my father’s blood pressure and he has been off of his prescription medication for a year now and feeling great. This is a prime example of the positive results of homeopathic treatment.
In my father’s case the integration between the medical physician and Naturopath/Homeopath was a very positive experience and medical physicians are slowly becoming more open to supporting their patients experimenting with alternative medicine. A model that supports the integration of the medical profession and homeopathy would be a promising future. My long term goal is to make a direct contribution to society by doing something I love. “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life” – Marc Anthony. I am driven by the fulfillment I attain through helping and educating people on topics I am passionate about. My objective is to build a successful homeopathic practice and continue a lifelong journey of learning. Based on my experiences I truly believe in the healing principles of Hahnemann “treating like with like”; homeopathy works with the body’s own healing mechanism instead of against it. I believe in individualized treatment that takes into account mental, spiritual and physical state. And most importantly I believe in treatment using remedies that are safe, non-toxic and free of side effects. I consider Homeopathy to be a lifestyle and as a believer in the principles of homeopathy, I use it every day in the decisions that I make.
