  • Even thoough the homework seems the equivalent of writing a term paper each week,  I'm still enjoying the program immensely.  I'm very impressed at how well it's planned out, adding (what seems like, ha ha) a "simple step"  gradually,  covering particular remedies which turns out to be a properly timed review,...

“I’m here now, because homeopathy is, I believe, the next step as I evolve and become more of who I am meant to be.”

from Kellie M., Dexter, Michigan My name is Kellie, and I am a recently-turned-forty mom, wife, healing spirit, and lover of growth, learning, and making a difference. I’m here now, because homeopathy is, I believe, the next step as I evolve and become more of who I am meant to be. I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t want to be some kind of healer. When I was a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian. As a teenager, a doctor. In college, I realized that I did not want the life and traditional education of an allopathic doctor; instead I pursued psychology and an advanced degree in health psychology, and eventually, I completed my Masters of Public Health in Health Behavior/Health Education at the University of Michigan. I further enhanced my education with training in health coaching, which I applied in working with individuals on achieving their health-related goals, both as a part of a health promotion organization and finally, as a part of my own business. All of this was necessarily fed by a passion for health and healing that stems from connecting with my life’s purpose and from my life circumstances and experience. As a young child I was sick a lot, given round after round of antibiotics, and put through a tonsillectomy at age eight. I suffered stomach aches and undiagnosed food sensitivities, anxiety, an eating disorder, and eventually after years of being bounced around from specialist to specialist with GI symptoms, autoimmune issues, and endocrine problems, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Fortunately, over the previous twenty years, I had not only worked at the University of Michigan’s Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research Center with some prominent researchers, but I’d also explored and tried numerous “alternative” medical modalities, had a passion for “natural” approaches, and believed strongly in the body’s ability to truly heal. I had even begun using some homeopathic remedies at home. At the time of my diagnosis, I connected with a woman who was also healing holistically from Lyme Disease, and she referred me to a homeopath; it was through my work with this homeopath that a lifelong healing journey really took off. Now, over a year later, I am still healing, as are my children who are on their own healing journeys. Both of my children have been my soul mates, furthering me in my healing, because of the symptoms they brought to this earth. In fact, it was after my son was born four years ago that I became unwell enough to finally explore the possibility of Lyme Disease, against the advice of my traditional medical doctors. When my daughter was born eight years ago, I chose to take a break from my career to be with my kids. My son is now in school three mornings per week, and I’m so ready to continue my growth personally and professionally at CCHM, with the goals of continuing my healing, supporting the healing of my family, AND eventually, being an important part of the larger healing community by providing homeopathic services to others seeking health and healing.
