  • "I sooo enjoyed Kim's class. He took a dry insipid subject and made it very very interesting. He is a wonderful teacher. I enjoyed it a lot and I will have to review it a few times to catch all the little pearls he shared. Thank you again for the wonderful class. Sincerely, Cristina."

“I found Homeopathy and it seemed to draw me home.”

From Melissa J., RN, Pembroke, ON

I suppose my story started similar to most, being born at a hospital to parents with great intentions and a strong backbone. I am blessed to have been born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where there was always a light taste of salt in the air. I grew up on the shoreline surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Mossy vegetation that was riddled with Cranberries in the late fall. No shortage of forests or hills. Nature has always been home to me. From the time of conception I think some sort of Horse craze gene was created, as I have adored these magnificent creatures all my life. Horses proved to be the one thing on this earth that I can find peace, harmony and comfort. From where I sit today, these horses will have been with me in my finest and worst times.

I didn’t grow up in a perfect home and as of date, I am not sure the verdict is really out there on “ Perfect” and “Human” being allowed to be used in a sentence together. My Father has and is still a long standing alcoholic, I suppose the more functional for work ethic and provider, just lacked the emotional component in doing the “Dad” bit. There was a time that growing up in this kind of environment really seemed to detach me from my spiritual self. Now, having journeyed through an array of “things and stuff” I realize my Father suffered the worst kind of poverty, poverty of the spirit.

So it seemed the great Creator, whom I am just really getting to know and love deeply, set me forth on jobs that called for humanity, service and healing. I have been in the volunteer Fire Services, Paramedic, Military medic and now a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. Recently my Husband and I have taken the leap of Faith and started our own business, Green Pastures Equine Programs, these are programs and workshops designed for those who are in the Military or First Responder and their Spouse/Partner. We know the power and healing that comes with horses and the environment they thrive in. We have a passion to pay this forward to others who may be struggling. My Husband has found solace and new take on life, as a roadside explosion over seas caused a traumatic brain injury, PTSD and a huge loss of a brother in arms.

So how did I find myself here, seeking information on enrollment into homeopathy, well I suppose it was a lot to do with my past and the great passion of whats to come.

Nature has always been nurture to me and I have had the blessing to be able to truly see a person and an animal, the whole picture. Holistic approach has been embedded into my being. It has made me a wonderful and empathetic practitioner as well as healer. Energy work has always interested me as it seems being a child in an alcoholic family taught me to read the energy in the room. I turned this into a real blessing~! With working with people and especially horses. I even ventured forward in energy work and just finished my level 3 Reiki practitioner course. Moving forward in my Nursing profession I want to have a more upstream approach and help a person before they end up in the chronic stages of dis-ease or issues. I believe our bodies can heal it is our minds we need to convince.

Spirituality is a huge aspect of my life and I live a 12 step practice in order to live recovery from a binge eating disorder. From the 12 step practice I reconnected with my roots of Roman Catholic and enjoying thoroughly the power in prayer, especially the Rosary. I also ventured into the wonderful elements that the great Creator provided; the Moon and crystals. I use the lunar phases to set intentions and let go of what no longer serves. Crystals are so very grounding for me and I am in awe that the earth created this lovely specimens. I often wonder what that could tell me about the time they witnessed in their creation.

So long story short, I participated in an event hosted by Matthew Kelly, an Aussie gentleman living in the USA who founded Dynamic Catholic, I way to renew the hearts of RC. He hosted a webinar about Dreaming your Dreams….without restraints or boundaries. Create what vocation draws you in…even if it does not exist! Create your passion, your fire, what makes me feel that deep joy. So I created a wellness center at the horse Farm where I can employ nature to nurture, help energy flow and mainly encourage people to find and see their own light within. Allow the body to heal and use more natural approaches to healing and dealing. I got so creative and joyful that I had a logo made! And that led me to find out if I could make this dream happen. I found Homeopathy and it seemed to draw me home. My recent zoom interview with Joyce really sealed the deal! She spoke to my heart and soul.
