Two years after settling in Canada, I got diagnosed with celiac disease, it took me almost 7 months to figure out what was going on. then when I finally got used to my “disease “, my husband got sick and was diagnosed with a rare kidney condition called FSGS, this literally rocked my world as he went from being very healthy to losing his kidney function in less than 2 years and relying on dialysis for the rest of his life. During this time, I decided to enroll in a holistic Nutrition course to help myself and my husband who needed to be on a special renal diet, I studied part-time, worked and cared full time for him and my kids, his condition deteriorated, conventional medicine was of no help at all except prescribing multiple drugs that mainly palliated him until complete loss of kidney function.
I started exploring different alternative healing practices , so I took him in this order to a Naturopath , a Traditional Chinese Doctor , a Herbalist , and Ayurvedic practitioner , and then finally a Homeopath … and I wish he tried homeopathy first , because that was the only approach that had successfully improved his kidney function , I remember that his GFR went from 31% to 41 % ! wow , That ignited my interest in this wonderful art of healing! none of the above modalities was able to yield to such a dramatic result , but the improvement was short lived , my husband gave up mentally after listening to his doctors who kept telling him that his condition is not reversible and that nothing works except dialysis or ultimately a transplant …They succeeded. he ended up needing dialysis and loosing complete kidney function by the second year.
I did not give up, I kept giving him the remedies, and could see that when I did hit on the right one the results were amazing.
I remember that I contacted Joyce at that time as I was so interested in pursuing homeopathic studies, our first email dates back to 2011, she was so patient, listened to my story and encouraged me to take at least one course. I have not been able to do it for financial reasons, as my husband lost his job and I had to work full time to attend to my family needs. my dream of studying homeopathy grew stronger every day, I bought books and read everything I could about it, watched lectures and bought kits, I started reaching out more to homeopathy than to supplements or herbs, Now I feel that my time came to make the jump and take the path of becoming a certified homeopath.
