From Nishi B., Brampton
Having dived into several other endeavours which I projected would benefit me in the near future, I have realised that one can only succeed in something if one puts their care and will into it. The branch of success begins when an individual exerts an immense passion and belief that all things are possible. After much time trying to find myself, I came to notice that life is not about finding oneself, but creating and improving oneself. I have always lived a very health conscious lifestyle, aiding others at every request that may pertain to nutrition, fitness, health concerns and even personal advice. I find satisfaction in motivating others to do better and improve because if we do not improve, we cannot grow.
I have a friend who found herself very lost with life; bombarded with serious health concerns and a huge expenditure on pharmaceuticals to desperately help her situation. After some years of struggling, she was simply advised by an elder to turn to the homeopathic approach. At first she was sceptical about the advice but left with dead ends elsewhere, she gave it a shot. As a close friend of hers I have seen her heal both physically and mentally in just months of starting a natural approach to medicine. Being by her side through it all I saw the positive impact and not the negative side effects of the prescribed medication; I was amazed at what homeopathy can do for us and truly made me a believer. From this personal experience I want to be able to further heal those who can benefit from homeopathic treatment.
I had not considered homeopathy as a career up until the past two years. I had spent much time pondering on a career path and came to notice that homeopathy is a field in which I am able to apply my already-existing knowledge and awareness to help others. There is no better feeling than making a positive difference in the world; any positivity I am capable of dispensing fills me with delight.
What also brought me to the discipline of homeopathy is my interest in Ayurveda. I believe that history and experience are the best teachers. After centuries of practice, rectification and observation, natural remedial systems have proven themselves over pharmaceutical efforts. I believe that if nature has given us a hitch, it has also provided us with the cure. More so, the ideal of homeopathy is to cure the person as a whole, not just the immediate symptom or sickness, which I find in every way to be the correct approach of healing. It is not appropriate to suppress a sign that the body has issued. It is better to investigate further into the matter and cure the root, improving not just one, but every trouble relative to that root.
I believe the study of homeopathy will give me with the skills I need to progress in a career for which I will be glad to wake up and work for. At the age of twenty-four I cannot say that I have figured out every answer to every question I have asked myself. However, I can confidently state that I have discovered a field of medicine which not only satisfies my conscience but one in which I can use my socially innovative personality to enhance my practice and be successful.
