There is a poster on the wall at the school that is a brief introductory guide to the use of classical homeopathic medicines. It gives a very brief description of common ailments and conditions. I wanted to include these remedies on this week's blog because clients really enjoy looking at this poster.
So back to basics...Aconite: This remedy is useful when taken at the sudden onset of illness, especially one brought on by an exposure to cold weather. Colds, flu, chills etc., Anxiety, Bereavement. Grief. Argent Nit: A good remedy for anxiety and apprehension. Useful when taken before any difficult undertaking e.g. making a speech. Headaches, Mental Strain. Arnica: Use after an injury, mental or physical shock. Excellent for all types of bruising, physical exchaustion after sustained exercise. Arsen Alb.: Benificial when dealing with vomitting and diarrhoea caused by eating bad food. Sore throat, dry and burning. Bryonia: Good remedy fro Chestiness - Colds that often go down into the chest. Dryness of the air passages, dry painful cough. Bronchitis.
Gelsemium: Good in the treatment of influenza - like colds. Useful in treating nervous apprehension e.g. pre-examination nerves. Nat Mur. : Sneezy colds - nose runs like a tap, Sinusitis, Cold sores, Menstrual pain and Premenstrual tension. Pulsatilla: It is predominatly a remedy for women. Menstrusl psin, Irregular periods, Menopause, Premenstrual tension. Rhus Tox: For complaints associated with the joints, Rheumatism, Lumbago, Sciatica, Strained joints or tendons. Effects of over-exertion.
Sepia: Predominately a remedy for women. Menopause. Premenstrual tension with Colic. Periods supressed or delayed. Silicea: Physical and mental debility due to over-exertion of the body or mind. Good rememdy for migraine. Violent periodic headache. Sinusitis. Sulphur: Good remedy for various skin conditions. Eczema, Psorisis, Itching skin, Acne, Nettlerash.
