How many times have you wished you could hand your patient a nutritional protocol along with a remedy to help heal their illness? Students and practitioners of homeopathy, are all familiar with Aphorism 3 from Dr. Hahnemann’s seminal work Organon of the Medical Art where he address “maintaining causes” by stating “...the physician must know the obstacles to recovery in each case and be aware to clear them away so that the restoration of health may be permanent”. Certainly nutrition plays a major role in ”maintaining causes” especially in disturbances such as skin and allergy reactions, celiac disease and colitis to name just a few.

This blog features Debbie Allen DSHM, RHN who is currently teaching nutrition at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine. Commenting on her own experience, Debbie says: “When I became a homeopath I had no idea what a beautiful combination it would be with my nutrition background. There were so many times in the past that I couldn't get a complete cure with my patients because I needed a remedy to shift the body. After being in practice ... it is very apparent that most patients require dietary changes along with homeopathy. There is so much inflammation going on in peoples bodies and their diet seems to be a huge contributing factor. Once the offending foods are removed from the diet and a homeopathic remedy is introduced the body’s response is remarkable. I believe educating your patients on their daily diet is essential to having a successful practice. I have found over the years that combining both homeopathy and nutrition helps my patients achieve complete health”.

On March 24th, Debbie is teaching an all day workshop on advanced nutrition specifically designed for Homeopaths or Naturopaths who are looking to enhance their practice and help their patients achieve complete health through nutrition. The course covers the latest protocols and developments in vitamins, minerals, food groups, artificial sweeteners and sugar, healthy diet plans for many illnesses. Each student will receive their own textbook containing all topics covered and more. All of the pathologies and illnesses discussed will have a complete diet protocol sheet that participants may use with patients.
