Gesemium sempervirens...yellow jasmine. This remedy is like an old friend to me but I hadn't it used it for awhile until recently. My dog Bella started to show some unmistakeable symptoms. She is an active, sensitve Border Collie and has experienced some upheaval in her life over the past few months (NWS hearing bad news - although for a dog it is the incredible sensing of bad news and its lingering effects). This has left her a little more fearful and apprehensive (Gelsemium is the acute for Arg. nit.) and she had developed a little nervous diarrhea.
The other symptom I noticed was that her urine was not as yellow and she was passing large amounts of it - to her great relief it seemed (a keynote for Gelsemium).
Gelsemium is often described as the 5 D's: drowsy, droopy, dizzy, dumb and dull. The antithesis of normal Border Collie behaviour! However, Bella is just a bit slower, a little bit sleepier than usual. So, I gave her Gesemium in the appropriate dose and...her diarrhea has stoped and her urine is normal colour again. Within 24 hours.
I feel so much gratitude for my homeopathic training - and homeopathy's brilliant founder, Dr. Samual Hahnemann - for even the gentlest and simpliest ways to help our devoted pets.
